Detour Lake yields more high grade gold

Joint venture partners Pelangio Mines and Trade Winds Ventures have intersected high grade gold mineralization on their Detour Mine property in northeastern Ontario.

In a July 25 news release, Trade Winds reported a high grade intersection of 89.26 grams per tonne gold over 4.0 metres on the M Zone Structural Corridor. The company recently released results of the final eight holes of a 59-hole diamond drilling program conducted last winter.

Trade Winds' CEO Ian Lambert says Detour Lake is "poised to be recognized as one of the largest near-development gold deposits in Canada, ready to be moved further towards potential production."

Trade Winds is planning additional drilling along the M Zone to include their Gowest property. At Detour Lake, an indicated gold resource approaching two million ounces of gold has been identified. The former Detour Lake mine produced a total of 1.7 million of gold.

Detour Lake is 140 km northeast of Cochrane on the Ontario-Quebec border.
