Because of the PR disaster that Israel has incurred .....
You can call Israel's action a "PR disaster" if you want, but what you are doing is too evident --- trying to soften actions that are deeply immoral. Your effort fails because you don’t control the narrative. People know too much, e.g., about Red Cross ambulances with rocket holes right smack through the middle of the red cross painted on the top of the vehicle.
What Israel is doing is not a PR disaster, it is a huge, strategic mistake, which you justify as “self-defense.”
But what about the endless incursions by Israeli jets into Lebanese air space, with much shooting of rockets, a near about daily occurrence since Israel withdrew from Lebanon. antiwar.com
Do the Lebanese not also have the right to self-defense?
And is there not a very good possibility that the two Israel soldiers were INSIDE Lebanon when captured? Or what about other low order bullying tactics that Israel engages in, such as flying jets through the sound barrier at low altitude over Lebanese cities. What’s with that?
Israel gives every impression of having turned into a brutal and dark place. Just as we have already suffered moral collapse in Washington, so shall we soon see it in Israel, evidence for which will be the slow melting away of the sensitive and the intelligent.
One would hope that Washington would have enough of a reservoir of native health to insulate the American people when Israel goes down, but I doubt it.
Washington clearly is a “low-bottom drunk,” and probably will reform only when face down in the gutter, left with nothing to eat but its own vomit. |
