Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) leads Sen. Mike DeWine (R-OH),44% to 42%, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll. "That's well within the margin of sampling error, it's the second time in three polls that the Democrat has held the edge. It's troubling for any incumbent to be at 42% in a summer poll. Meanwhile, Ted Strickland (D) "continues to hold a double digit lead in the race for Governor."

In Vermont, Sanders Holds Huge Lead
In Vermont's U.S. Senate race, Rep. Bernard Sanders (I-VT) leads Rich Tarrant (R), 56% to 35%, according to a new American Research Group poll.

In New York, Spencer's Campaign Imploding
John Spencer's (R) campaign for the Republican nomination for Senate is "a total mess," with "money short and three top staff members quietly departing," reports the New York Daily News. The departures consisted of "most of Spencer's top staff," including his campaign manager, spokesman, and a top consultant.
