Just curious, if you think that thieves need to be dealt with harshly as you indicate, then you must believe that the land of Palestine was not stolen from the original inhabitants. Root causes of violence must be investigated if peace is to be found. You cannot have an arbitrary "starting point" in the story of the Jews and Arabs such as the incident of Hezbollah "kidnapping" two israeli soldiers. Therefore the action by Bush of not calling for a cease fire was not a call for a lasting peace, unless you subscribe to a aforementioned "starting point" of the violence, which appears to be a fictional "starting point". Wear your plastic flowers in your hair if you must.
