Telling the truth about atrocities makes you a "traitor"? So, do you think citizens ought to just lie, cover-up, dupe and advocate the mass slaughter of innocent human beings for no purpose other than to allow a dishonest presdient to keep waging a doomed war so he doesn't have to admit he was wrong? By your logic, anyone who reported Abu Graib, Haditha and even this latest Israeli air strike are "traitors". Or are you dishonestly claiming there were no widespread atrocities in Vietnam, especially by 1971? Ever heard of My Lai? Phoenix? Free-fire zones? Hootch burnings? Agent Orange? Napalm? Get real man, Vietnam wsa a very ugly and senseless war. Kerry knew. He served in it, unlike a single Bushie leader. Maybe you ought to take a long look in the mirror. Covering up war crimes is not patrotic. It's evil. And that applies to every one of those lying smearvets who made up every single smear they could about Kerry, none of which were true. Kerry did the right thing in 1971. He told the truth. And by doing so he helped end the war and save the lives of thousands of innocent people, including US troops and POW's.
