Tom, you probably know more about Arab-Israeli history than I do.

Here are some things I do know: Israelis don't strap bombs on pregnant women and send them into Arab weddings to blow themselves up. Israelis don't kidnap Arab policemen, torture them, and cut their heads off. Israelis don't mass in public squares shouting "death to all Arabs." Israelis don't hang teenage girls from lampposts for committing adultery. Israelis don't cut off the hands of petty thieves.

These are aspects of my limited knowledge that lead me to give the benefit of the doubt to Israel as to who is responsible for the violence.
