"I don't exactly hold the UN in high regard. Some of the observers have helped Hezbollah attack Israel in the past. The UN as a whole is very anti-Israel. That doesn't mean that one can assume that what it says is wrong and I make no such assumption. However I find any argument from authority with a UN report (or in this case a claim about a UN report not the report itself) as the authority, to be a very weak argument."

Tom, Specifically when have UN observers purposely helped Hezbollah attack Israel in the past?

Also, as far as the UN being anti Israel, you may wish to learn that shortly after the birth of Israel, during their fighting, Israel assassinated Count Bernadotte, sent by the UN to arrange a cease fire. He was NOT collateral damage. It was a planned action to prevent a ce3ase fire so Israel could continue getting more land. The participants in the attack have written of their exploits so trying to say that it was an accident won't hold water.

That may be one reason why some people may think the UN isn't that fond of Israel. Another reason may be that if anyone anywhere says what Israel is doing is wrong they are branded anti-Israel.

Funny, The ENTIRE world except for the US is classified as such. Britain in only going along with us because we twist their arms.
