I lived in England during the IRA terrorist period. The English government moved carefully and always responded proportionately. They patiently waited out the problem and eventually, after 20 years, the situation has been calmed down and is moving into the past. This is the only lasting way to solve insurgencies. The current US and Israeli administrations do not have the patience to do the right thing, and the inevitable result will be a spiral into regional chaos.
