Big Oil is currently a criminal monopoly. The companies do not compete, they collude and price-fix which is illegal.

They do this because of Bush-Cheney's zero enforcement of price-fixing laws. This was proven even before Bush-Cheney stole Florida in 2000 by their #1 corporate criminal pal Enron leading the charge in collusion with every single energy company on the map in their gross criminal looting of the west coast for 30 billion dollars.

Since then the gouging has gotten much bigger and gone global, enriching Bush-Cheney pals the Saudis as well as their rivals the Iranians, giving all the big oil companies record profits and a virtual carte blanche to steal as much as they want knowing no one will lift a finger to stop them. Despite the huge failure of Iraq and criminality of Bush stealing both elections, the trillion dollar energy gouging is the biggest crime of all.
