There is all kind of evidence that electronic voting machines are:

1. insecure
2. easily hacked to alter results
3. inaccurate

There is also evidence indicating that they have been used to steal elections. Not proof, mind you, but evidence.

On the other hand there is no evidence of either of your statements being anything other than wishful thinking.
