Where is the Nation of Islam? In todays world they generally issue birth certificates, passports and other legal documents. re:Why were the Indians recognized as a nation? Because they made law, owned land and controlled their borders. re:Many of them fought brutal wars with the US Army. Most of them died from disease - sort of early chem warfare using cut up bits of blankets from sick people sent to them as "powerful white medicine".
