Well, I just received the following response from Chuck Norris to my last E-Mail on the adequacy of the Q3 additional allowance for returns of WP7/WIN95:

"Dear Mr. Taylor,

We believe that provisions made in Q3/97 will adequately cover anticipated future returns of WordPerfect Suite 7 and any possible future price reductions that may be required to move this product through the channel to end-users. We do use the strategies that you referred to, i.e., price reductions or promotional coupons to help sell-through products that are nearing the end of their
life cycle.

If you have any other questions or comments, please let me know.

Chuck Norris"

If this is a straight answer (and there's no reason to believe it's not since the truth will eventually come out anyway), then it would appear that Corel is in fact clearing the revenue/balance sheet of all the "old" stuff for a good or at least better Q4 through actual sales of the WP8 Std/Pro, WP7/WIN3.1 and the specialty suites. Any thoughts?
