I do try posting in a civil manner, I do it all the time- ALL the time. Look at my posts- there is no name calling of identified posters- many people cannot say the same. I don't drag people's identified posts out of context to pick them apart on other threads, or discuss posters not on my thread with a group of members of my thread. When have I been uncivil to you in recent years, for example? I've tried being "civil" and just ignoring the insults (for years), and I've tried saying "please don't post to or about me" and I've tried "no to or abouts". Guess what? They don't work unless the person on the other end wants it to work- because the only enforcement mechanism is one's own sense of decency. Calling people on their rudeness doesn't work either- but at least I get my POV about it out there. Civility has gotten me nowhere with the people who talk about me in the way they do here, so commenting here is probably pointless- although at least I express my disappointment with the behavior, and I am truly disappointed. But I've found civility works wonders with the people I meet elsewhere.
