Reactions to media statements are largely visceral and emotional in conflict climates. Parsing the issue into neat intellectual categories is, sorry to say, irrelevant to the actual issue at hand, which is how non-parsing intellectuals react. They are the majority out there. Fine-tuned political philosophers are not. This is where America breaks down trying to translate its ideas into Eastern cultures. We just can't get past our own intellecutal models of how everyone SHOULD react. They don't give a flip what we think they should do. They are who they are and have been for millenia.
