Yes, lots of people I know are depressed.

And while I appreciate the author's point very well, it is not simply post traumatic stress at play but also the very real stress of facing another hurricane season with the knowledge that the levees are not fixed and that we are at the mercy of the miserable Corps of Engineers who may or may not be doing its job correctly. In other words, the residents here are suffering not only from post traumatic stress syndrome but also from pre-traumatic stress disorder, a malady specific to New Orleans I'll suggest to the folks who write the DSMs. vbg.
