Iran was moderating by 2001, moving toward us, opening up, the young generation particularly. They even marfched in the streets in SUPPORT of the US after 9-11.

Then Bush came along with his crazy Axis Of Evil speech, invaded their neighbor, unleashed all kinds of sectarian violence and racism against Islam, got an Islamic extremist elected president, then refused to even speak to Iran.

All this has been very irresponsible, immature, dangerous and self-defeating behavior. We have no military option against Iran. Iran has not attacked us. Iran is a growing threat mostly due to Bush-Cheney miscalculations and lies. And if we get Iran to go to war gasoline will jump to $5 and cripple the US economy which is already hanging in there by the skin of its teeth due to all the deficit spending.

Of course Reagan had a different way of dealing with Iran, secretly sending them sophisticated arms. That was also a grave mistake. Come to think of it, no one but Clinton has had any success dealing with Iran. After Clinton's 8 years the Iranians were starting to moderate. But no more.
