I do try posting in a civil manner, I do it all the time- ALL the time. Look at my posts- there is no name calling of identified posters- many people cannot say the same.

Second, you're a liberal's liberal. What do you expect to be but a target of conservatives? I'm a target of libs and you don't hear me whining all over the site. I wouldn't be surprised if Peter isn't a regular target and I don't remember him whining either. Grow up!
I don't drag people's identified posts out of context to pick them apart on other threads, or discuss posters not on my thread with a group of members of my thread.
The X specialty. Attack someone, but do it in such a manner that it can't be directly proven. You've done this for so many years it's a joke now and perfectly well known.
When have I been uncivil to you in recent years, for example? I've tried being "civil" and just ignoring the insults (for years), and I've tried saying "please don't post to or about me" and I've tried "no to or abouts".
(a) Give me some time. I can probably find the posts.
(b) I don't remember Peter being uncivil to you. Care to produce the posts?
Guess what? They don't work unless the person on the other end wants it to work- because the only enforcement mechanism is one's own sense of decency. Calling people on their rudeness doesn't work either- but at least I get my POV about it out there.

Civility has gotten me nowhere with the people who talk about me in the way they do here, so commenting here is probably pointless- although at least I express my disappointment with the behavior, and I am truly disappointed.
Maybe there are some people around here who think you REALLY need a psychiatrist.
But I've found civility works wonders with the people I meet elsewhere.
Guess what? So have I. I've met numerous SIers. I think they'd say I was civil and polite with them. They were good people.
Now let's cut the crap and indirect attacks. If you want to attack me, do so. I won't run to Dave. In our case, he wouldn't listen anyway. And while you're playing "holier than thou", let's not forget there are some skeletons in YOUR closet. One of them involved a fellow SIer in trouble some years back and efforts to help. You know what I'm talking about and what you and I did. I can make that clear without mentioning names. "Holier than thou" won't cut it, X.
There have been so many X's over the years I think people have a right to skepticism. This is more likely just another switch to confuse the gullible than a real change. I'm afraid you're going to have to convince us. |
