With the neocons demanding Rice's head over what little restraint she has called for, that isn't going to change anytime soon. Israel is going well beyond their stated goal of destroying Hezbollah in the south. So there is a larger game afoot. Did you know that Israel is sending troops into Lebanon with llama pack animals? This can greatly extend the range of troops on foot. Plus, they can operate independently with no supply line problems for long periods of time. And that means there isn't an easy way to verify those troops have withdrawn if a withdrawal is ordered. "Those terms do not begin to equal or justify the level of destruction we are witnessing." If they are going to do what I think they are planning on doing, the death and destruction you see now will pale in significance.
