i think a lot of SBUX biz comes from "heavy users"--people who buy 10 drinks a month or more. these users are likely to decline in number, and the number of times they go per month will also decline. many people can easily save $50 or $100 a month just by cutting down on the number of SBUX trips. with over a trillion dollars of ARM resets happening in 06 and 07, this will happen, and will impact their same-store sales.

still, you gotta hand it to SBUX--they created a market where none existed (worldwide branded superexpensive brown water, with an addictive yet legal drug in it), AND they monopolized the market.
