Calling Northern Californians:
There does seem to be a confusing difference between the Reuters report, which says that the appeals judge ordered the lower court to consider blocking sales of Aquarius, and Avant's press release, which says that the appeals judge ruled that Aquarius did not violate Cadence's copyright.
I telephoned the Nine Circuit Court of Appeals, (415) 556-9800, and asked how I could get a copy of the decision. The lady said that anyone could show up with $2 and they'd be happy to hand over a copy. I'm in Florida, so I'm afraid I can't make it anytime soon. If anyone is in San Francisco, how about popping over to 121 Spear Street, buying a copy of the decision, and letting us know what's really going on. (If you have a website and a scanner, that would be the easiest way to get a copy of the decision to us.)
(It is possible to order a copy of the report by mail for $2, but that would take a while. It's also possible to obtain one over some type of machine that I've never heard of before.)
The lady said that it would be helpful if you had the date, name of the parties, and docket number, though they could probably figure out some of that info themselves. |
