It is pretty amazing how, even with Nafta and that giant sucking sound, more Mexicans aren't employed at home.

China is getting a good deal of new jobs from all over the place. Even the Mexicans can't compete with China.

I don't get why Saudi Arabia has a 30% unemployment rate either.

Saudi Arabia imports a lot of foreign workers. Much of the wealth is in the bank accounts of the Royal Family.

To get a good handle on all the reasons, you would have to examine in some detail the components of GDP and the demographics.
