I believe what the Arabs really want is respect. Until they get it they will fight to the death. You see, life with no respect is not worth living. The only way to forget that is to take respect for granted.

Forgive my butting in, but isn't respect a two way street?

There's respect obtained from viewing the positive benefits of cooperation and mutual tolerance for the views of each side of an issue..

And then there's respect obtained from threats, coercion, and fear.

It seems to me that Hizbullah's (and most of the Arab world's) approach to obtaining respect is to attempt to intimidate and terrorize.

After all, Lebanon has been literally too terrified to send its army to confront and disarm Hizbullah, an armed militia that is being armed by foreign powers such as Syria and Iran.

Hizbullah also was the primary organization in Lebanon that OPPOSED the pull-out of Syrian occupation forces.

And the fact that Syria STILL REJECTS the existence of Lebanon as a country means that Hizbullah was acting as a Syrian proxy aimed at denying Lebanon its sovereignty.

Again.. sorry for butting in, but I thought I should make those points.
