There is one rule for not getting bombed or invaded from Israel that works perfectly: don't bomb or invade Israel first.

I don't think the Arabs are really alarmed in the sense of thinking they will be destroyed without provocation. I'm sure they are very frustrated that the US is still around to arm Israel while the USSR is no longer around to arm them. I'm sure they are mad that the US refused to help them destroy Israel.

If Hezbullah sets up shop in Baja California and begins to shell San Diego, I think you would find the American response far more "barbaric" than anything Israel is doing. No country is expected to just accept being shelled over the border, and by an organization sworn to finish what Hitler started.

First time I've heard anybody say that European "largesse" is keeping Israel afloat? Who is keeping Japan or Italy "afloat"? They have even larger debt to gdp rations.
