Actually it started when Israel shelled a Palestinian family on a beach, leaving one young survivor and killing seven members of the family.


First, that family died long after the shelling started. Second, they did not die from an Israeli shell at all, but from stepping on a Hamas mine. That is why lots of Hamas guys swept the beach collecting shrapnel, and the one survivor who was sent to Israel for treatment had cuts all over her body from the removal of shrapnel, even where there was no medical reason for the treatment.

Didn't stop Hamas from making a full "Pallywood" production of the incident of course.
