A lot of the action in Hole In The Sky takes place in a place called Elk Summit and a fire lookout called Graves Peak. I spent some of my happiest summers at Elk Summit and could see Graves Peak from my lookout at Diablo. They are real places, and except for their use or non-use, are not materially different from the way they were back then. The movie was filmed in British Columbia, which is too bad because the real place beats it all to heck for scenery. If you can remember the name of that movie about the wolf trapper, I'd like to know it. Wolves are making a comeback in Idaho and the Bitterroot Mountains.
