What I fear in Bush is an inability to comparmentalize his religious beliefs from his duties at hand along with an assumption that because he was 'saved' once, God would save him from a serious error of judgement, such as starting a war.
Kate, Saddam RE-started the war (Desert Storm) when he failed, time after time, to abide by the cease-fire agreement he agreed to.
When you have a material breach of a cease-fire, it almost automatically defaults back to the previous status, which was Desert Storm.
Thus, Bush didn't just make this decision based upon "god". He made it because the spineless other members of the UNSC were UNWILLING TO ENFORCE THOSE BINDING RESOLUTIONS!!
They DIDN'T HAVE 300,000 armed personnel sitting on their @sses waiting for fraudulent and inept inspections to be carried on indefinitely.. The United States DID!!
Bush was unwilling to permit the French and Russians.. etc delay and obfuscate using US troops poised for an invasion, as their pawn.
Personally, I think the guy made some very difficult decisions. He ignored Cheney's advice not to go to the UN again, and agreed to Colin Powell's advice. He followed a two track path that provided Saddam a clear-cut ultimatum and choice.. Comply fully, self-exile, or overthrow..
And it's Saddam's fault he did not choose wisely.
Are you trying to say that all of this war is Bush's idea of a Christian crusade against Islam?
Then show me where he's publicly declared a "convert or die" message to Muslims?
If anything, it's the militant muslims that are declaring that message.
Yet here you are criticizing people who have decided to make a stand against an obvious evil.
