They worked in the background; kick the American and the French out of Lebanon. At that time the Lebanese government was playing into the hand of the US administration.

They didn't seem to share the same concern about kicking out the Syrians, ruled by a "secular" Ba'thist elite.

It was ONLY VIA PRESSURE FROM THE US AND FRENCH that Syria finally ended their physical occupation of Lebanon. And that was just LAST YEAR.

With time Hezbo, drove the Israelis out of S. Lebanon, they also became a social organization helping their own people, building hospitals, schools, daycare, and clinics and helping the poor to pay their rent and feed their families while the Lebanese government did not have the money to do so.

So they're so efficient at ruling a region they have to live off of hand-outs? Hizbullah turns the Shi'a of Lebanon into beggars standing "hat in hand" to the Iranians, while at least Israel has a properous economy.

Lebanon used to be very properous, and was close to regaining that prosperity. But Hizbullah had to "tickle the tiger" one too many times.

That will be the end of this argument unless you have something substantial to offer.

Gosh.. considering you seldom have anything substantial to offer, we're going to miss you.. ;0)
