The rightwing smears against Carter are disgraceful. I have heard him being called "evil" just because he wants peace. We should remind rightwingers that Carter is the only recent president who is a true devout Christian, one of two to almost make peace in Israel and unite instead of divide the southern whites and blacks in this country. Carter was also way ahead of his time on clean energy and fuel efficiency. If Reagan hadn't dismantled Carter's programs, we'd have been off Arab oil completely years ago.
