A few brief comments on where things stand: 1) The gasline deal is not going to happen now. We'll have to start over again next year. 2) The Legislature is messing with the Governor's energy tax proposals. He's threatening to veto, but a compromise is possible. 3) The polls show that Governor Murkowski is running third in the Republican Primary, behind Sarah Palin and John Binkley. He's a lame duck, but there's a slight chance he'll pull a Wally Hickel switcharoo and hop onto a third-party ticket. 4) I posted these thoughts about BP shutting down Prudhoe Bay...
