Just got back from Italy/Switzerland.

This is only my second trip to Europe after the EC/EURO era.

How things have changed. There is no doubt that the cost of living in Italy is above that of the US. As for Switzerland, I was in St Moritz so it is hard to compare that to anything.

My informal salary survey in Italy shows their income at a lower level as compared to here. I was told that the average Luigi survives financially because their housing expense is much less than ours, with kids living in family homes well into their working years.

Strong protection laws appear to be stopping the Asian/Walmart invasion, so far.

Regardless, I simply cannot see the ability of the Euro to go up much more against the US$. So how is that going to affect the precious metals?
