The answer is for the US to fix it's dependance on oil from Arabic countries. Israel must be armed so that any attack becomes suicide, and encouraged to return whatever land belongs to Lebanon, and whatever prisoners are eligible for release, and then by UN decree allowed to freely retaliate for any attack coming from Lebanese soil.
