MJany presidential candidates lost because the number two men did not help the ticket enough. Last examples: Kerry and Gore. Kerry: his worst mistake was ignoring the Catholic votes. If he were to state that he was against abortion, he would have garnered the Catholic votes. Many Catholic friends emailed me that they voted against Kerry just because of tyhat. Even the current Pope - when he was still Cardinal in Germany - urged catholics to vote away from Kerry because of that issue.
