Most people would call that "doomsday" enough. I expect something far more boring:

Rising interest rates as the economy slows
Rising prices as the economy slows
Rising unemployment as the economy slows (but not to 12%)
Stagnant growth with some quarters of decline
Ballooning government deficits
A fed printing overtime
A long period where life stinks and we become a little more poor each day
A shift away from the US as the central economic actor in the global economy
Real concern for the severe trashing of the environment that is currently taking place
