The US did not merely "take a chance" by taking a resolution to invade Iraq to the UN and failing to win support. The US tried and failed to get the UN to sanction an invasion and made clear in doing so that this would not be a UN action -- there is no place where enough squirming and wiggling on your part is going to change that.

Listen.. if you're so adamant about twisting the truth, then why don't you quit b*tching to this thread and send a massive petition to your congressperson/senators DEMANDING that Bush be impeached??

The they can explain to you why the US congress provided Bush an authorization to USE FORCE against Iraq, PRIOR to the UNANIMOUS PASSING of UNSC 1441...

Because there WAS NO DOUBT in the minds of those UNSC members who voted for 1441 as to what the United States had in mind for Saddam should he not resolve the material breach in the cease-fire.

I'm tired of trying to pound reality into you..
