When the US and the UN are one and the same organization, your points will be correct. Until then, we are left with only one reality -- an organization called the UN, not controlled by the US or acting on behalf of the US, signed a cease fire with Iraq. The US had no right whatsoever to undertake a unilateral invasion of Iraq. Nor did it have a valid reason for same. Nor has the US benefitted from this stupid policy. Nobody can tell the US what to do -- which is too bad considering how badly flawed our illegal policies turned out to be.
