"I would bet that Israel has optimized their nuclear forces for just this eventuality and that they have relatively low fallout." en.wikipedia.org I've read articles speculating that the Israeli nuclear arsenal consists exclusively of "neutron emission" type bombs of the type we were considering for use in western europe against the Soviet hordes. These bombs have small blast effects and fallout (compared to other nuclear bombs) and kill by enhanced neutron radiation emissions which kill animals while not messing up the RE too much, and have no massive lingering radiation problems.
