Walmart big box stores have gone too far. What remains of our mom and pop stores ought to be protected whenever possible. You can imagine how many small stores a Walmart would put out of business in a place like Chicago. And since the wages they pay are below the poverty line for a family, the city would have more working poor they'd need to deal with. Many would end up on welfare and Medicaid. Walmart is a huge exploiter of welfare and Medicare, which WE pay for. So beware then hidden costs of low priced Chinese goods.
