>> Sell on the news made AMD go red now, and Intel got green of course. How unexpected!

What news ?

Anyway, the daily price action of AMD has followed the pattern of a spike up at the open, followed by drop at the close, on high volume. That usually bodes ill for a stock price. I pointed that out a couple of months ago, with the response being the usual jeers.

INTC's price pattern has been a drop at the open, followed by a rise on very low volume throughout the day. That is pretty much positive, especially after a stock has bottomed. The time to buy AMD will be when it is acting the way INTC is acting now.

The theory is retail and short term trades at the open, long term money (institutions) at the close.

Of course hard news will scramble this model.
