Yes, when a paper that is purportedly the best daily newspaper in America, the one that sets the framework for the rest of the news media, not only hires a serial liar as a reporter but fails to catch on after dozens of faked stories, something is wrong there. The internal NYT verdict was that the management which had favored Jayson Blair was wrong, and the management was out. There is an embarrassment of riches that conservatives can point to back their claims that the NYT editorializes all over the news pages. How about those 43 stories Howell Raines chose to run on the Master's Tournament not admitting women?
