And alas for "the center", because our elected representatives represent their entire constituency, not just their party.

I agree that if you are elected to statewide or national office you have to find "the center" or at least to the extent that you can in order to represent the entire constituency.

Lieberman is not a good example for you to make on this point.

Supporting the President from the other party to authorize him to go to war is one thing, but continue to support him after it became clear that the reasons for going to war (the rationale for going to war) was at best unfounded and possibly deceptive on purpose has nothing to do with conscience or finding the center.
