Mobile communications company NTT DoCoMo and its eight regional subsidiaries, KDDI, Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company and Vodafone KK will implement mobile number portability on 24 October.

KDDI is a diversified telecommunication operator that provides both mobile communication service and broadband service.

Vodafone KK, to be renamed Softbank Mobile on 1 October 2006, is a mobile operator offering a range of mobile voice and data services.

Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company provides portable and car phone services in the Okinawa region.
