I read through your links. Some good points. Certainly the police need to enforce the law, but at the same time do so in a manner that punishes specific law breakers for specific acts and does not make martyrs out of people, or else there may be a big price to pay. Escalating things into a tribal, sectarian conflict between natives and non-natives is a very counter-productive path for some people to be taking. The non-native opposition group is right to point out what crimes have been committed and demand justice, but they should not condone or encourage tit-for-tat retaliation on natives. They should leave the low ground to others and keep the high ground. Others should be made to pay a political price if they do not handle the issue properly.

Despite native claims of all sorts of groups supporting them, including supposed Palestinian groups, I am somewhat unconvinced. There may be low-level connections with organized crime membership in some circumstances, as is pointed out. But remember that even the US supports a two-state solution in the Middle East, and that means that the Palestinian flag is far from synonymous with terrorism -- it represents millions of people of many ideas and persuasions who unlike Jewish people do not have a state representing their rights or interests. Somehow I suspect that the natives in Caledonia do not have a clue about Palestinians, nor do Palestinians have a clue about natives in Caledonia.
