The native issue in Canada is a very tricky one. In the long run, I don't think that it is tenable to have a system of law that endows a group of people with extra rights or benefits based on their ancestry, going on into perpetuity. Somehow it should be phased out. Maybe give registered natives some extra land in exchange for their children having reduced benefits, and their grandchildren having the same equal status as all other Canadians. I don't know -- but like the US has enough of its own issues that it should be concentrating on domestic problems rather than foreign ones, so should Canada.
