I have difficulty generalizing the impact of Lieberman's defeat on the Deomocratic party and the mid-term elections. Kinney got the can [three cheers for those voters]. It appears that the successful candidates won on the platform of "I'm not Lieberman" or "I'm not Kinney."

Now to generalize :o)

Perhaps the electorate is so sick of it all, the winning strategy is going to be: "I'm not the incumbent. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm not the incumbent."
