i think the McKinney defeat was a referendum on dignity. The sad thing is that there are so many Georgians willing to accept abusiveness as the norm.

I think the Lieberman defeat was a local referendum on the war on terror. Apparently a majority of Connecticut democrats want to meet Nick Berg et al's end.

It does appear to signal to all moderates that democrats stand for appeasement and retreat.
