Not a very enthusiastic response to CEO change. How long was the old CEO at 3com? It doesn't seem long.

3COM had ~$1.80/sh in C&CE as of March. That means the shares are effectively selling for ~$2.60/sh.

Considering the high level of M&A activity, I'm surprised nobody is making a play for COMS. Buy the company, cut some fat, focus the firm on a few strategic growth markets and in a couple years bring public again as a profitable company... ala Seagate a couple years ago.

Could turn $1 billion into 3 or 4 in less than 30 months.
