You can laugh -- I was recently at a Conference on Critical Thinking -- the founder expressed the same thought -- "most people do not recognize any problems with their thinking."

That's elitist thinking, imo. Very few people don't do some sort of critical, reflective thinking. It is a question of what they do with it -- or if such thinking becomes well-developed.

Don't laugh -- when I think of extreme examples -- ok, the first one that popped into my head was the Pres -- I am not privy to their thoughts -- I am sure even he has a self-critical thought now at then, whether it can be conncted to anything or remembered for any period of time -- well, that's another matter.

Don't be so hard on people -- some folks, by choice, are barraged with all kinds of useless, noisy information -- whether from the media, their peers -- or by reading too many internet chat sites -- just makes it difficult for those critical thoughts to stick or get anywhere.
