Dear Gzubeck:

All it takes is for some enterprising pirate is to open up the Toshiba and use the decoding software already present to decode the video/audio stream. They can blast decoded data through another USB port (or even the same one) and thus get a pure digital copy of the material. Pirates don't consider this undoable, just a cost of doing business.

Once out, the copy protect access control stream is only an impediment to ordinary legal customers. It hasn't stopped a single pirate. Its truly worth less than nothing. It just ticks off your customers in long turn on times, added costs and sheer misery. And it takes away their legal rights. No wonder the acceptance rate is so slow.

Pete
