Jay I look into my crystal ball 10 years from now - and I see some sunni middle east guy with a towel on his head and an ak47 he is firing into the air sitting on top of his hoard of black gold and a drone Airplane about to send a missle into his guts - and then I see you over in trinidad sitting atop your hoard of shiny metal hoping someone will give you some of that oil someone was just killed for in exchange for that shiny metal. How will you get on SI and post if you don't have energy? If no one will give you black gold for yellow gold - you made a critical error eh? Maybe the sunni guy will give you some black gold for yellow gold - but after that drone missle blows him into pieces - the deal he made with you is kinda null and void eh? What is your backup plan if gold will not be exchanged for the things you consume? Why is a bully thug with big guns gonna let you live if you have something he wants and you won't give it to him? Why do you feel gold will prevent people from reverting to animal instincts when things get hard - even whole nations go crazy at times General - reference current israel - old school germany - etc etc If the WHOLE WORLD goes crazy like you predict - I think your investment in gold would have been better served in silver bullets and golden guns like that james bond guy - Even Mogambo has an arsenal. A man that has gold without guns to protect is has no gold at all - bogart learned that the hard way in the sierra madre. Ultimately you don't need the gold - just having the guns to enforce your belief system is all you really need - gold just diverts attention from the real power. If you don't get suckers to agree to work for you or give you consumables for shiny metal - you will be one hurting General - all that gold - an no one who really NEEDS it. At least if you were buying it in useable products I could see some logic - say a lighter or a gold fork - but just a lump - so silly.
