Moore is a fine film-maker but his opinion of who should be elected in 2006 or 2008 does not hold a lot of weight. I'm not even sure he's a democrat. But he is a fine documentarian, one of the best ever. Moore was right about Bush and Iraq, Bush and the Saudis and the way the rightwing avoids combat themselves but makes money sending other peoples' kids to war. In fact, Kerry's position on Saddam turned out to be the right one. Kerry made one mistake, trusting the phony promises and intel Bush-Cheney were sending to the senate in order to get pro war powers votes. Also, the war powers vote was not a "vote for war", it was a vote to give the president the real threat of force, but only go to war as a very last resort. Bush promised that and broke his promise. He went to war willy-nilly, without even planning beyond the first week's action, then "mission accomplished", remember? Three years later we have another Vietnam on our hands. That never would have happened under Kerry.
